San Diego Files Criminal Charges Against Spearfisher

Late last month, we reported that Omid Adhami killed a protected sea bass inside the San Diego-La Jolla Ecological Reserve.  Adhami, who has a criminal history that includes six felony convictions, claimed he didn’t know he was diving in the reserve and that he was frightened by the sea bass and shot it in self-defense.  Yeah, right.

Yesterday, the San Diego City Attorney's Office filed misdemeanor criminal charges against Adhami and two accomplices involved in the killing (one of whom was recently convicted of removing marine animals from the same reserve).  Adhami’s misdemeanor charges carry a maximum penalty of three years in jail and $22,000 in fines.  What jerks; I hope they all get the maximum sentence.
